No UEFA Champions League (UCL) please, We are English Club!

Again, this season is another awful season for English Club in UCL. This is the second time for them to be absent from the UCL quarter final party in the last three years. Starting this UCL season with 4 (Four) representatives, but then when the stage comes to the Big 8, the English scent is faded away from UCL atmosphere. Three English teams have been knocked out in the round of 16. Man City was totally outclassed by Barcelona, Arsenal was struck by hard-working AS Monaco, and Chelsea was so passionless to face 10 brave men of PSG. Yet, Liverpool was the worst. They even failed to avoid the group elimination despite only sorted in the “easy” group. They failed to accompany Real Madrid from that “easy” group.

Sebagian besar pendukung Manchester United mungkin tanpa pikir panjang akan berkata musim 2013/2014 adalah musim yang layak dilupakan. Melihat hasil akhir klasemen liga Inggris dan beberapa rekor buruk yang dipecahkan selama musim tersebut, membuat DVD Season Review 2013/14 adalah barang yang sulit ditemui di rak koleksi DVD penggemar setia The Red Devils. Defensive Midfielder: The Unsung Hero and The Silent Warrior

In case you meet any children who really enthusiast about football and you ask him who is his favorite football player, in this day, they will apparently say a group of these footballers, like Iker Casillas, Gianluigi Buffon, Frank Lampard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, etc. It is very rare for those children to say player like Xabi Alonso, Sergio Busquets, Danielle De Rossi, Michael Carrick as their favorite football players. This also happens to the most people who do not like and do not really know about football. They will apparently express the same things about their favorite footballers. However, in girl cases, their favorite player is every footballers who has good-looking and cool faces. LoL.

That phenomena is merely natural remembering those mentioned player are clearly amazing and always consistent in performance. Furthermore, the case of favorite player for most people is normally affected by the amount of goals, assist, dribble, and saves that created by the players, individually. That’s why the name like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Manuel Neuer, are more familiar than players like Sergio Busquets, Michael Carrick and Xabi Alonso or other players who has role as defensive midfielder, or the holding midfielder.

World Cup 2014: Rio’s Verdict

After undergoing plenty of matches which brought drama, bitterness, anger, joy, and tears, finally, we reach the final stages of World Cup 2014 that concludes Germany and Argentina to craft a new history in Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro. That means there will be a historical match with full of passion, excitement, and spirit coming up by hours!!! Yet, in the same time, sadly, it is also a sign that this 4 years event is going to meet its end T_T

This final between Germany and Argentina is really interesting. It is one of the most ideal scenario for final game by referring both teams performance during world cup 2014. They have shown to the world that they were able to beat other world class team during the tournament. And this final is surely a deserved prizes for them.

World Cup 2014: The Guardian Angels

Actually, I have written this similar article in Bahasa Indonesia with title of Kiper = Malaikat Sepakbola. Yet, due to this world cup spirit, I’d like to write over this topic in World Cup 2014 version. This topic really triggers me because of several good goalkeeper show up in this tournament. Several infamous goalkeeeper showed brilliant performance during this tournament, such as Guilermo Ochoa (Mexico), Keylor Navas (Costa Rica), and Raïs M'Bolhi (Algeria). They even could create difficulties to high profile team like Brazil, Italy, and Germany!

Beside, this is the best position where I am able to give my best whenever Im playing football..^_^

Since several months ago, apparently, every attention of the world started to focus on the upcoming World Cup 2014 in Brazil, by the numbers of days, the event will be started. However, in my beloved country, Indonesia, the atmosphere of this event has been immensely distracted by the National Election which has been held on April 9^th for the representative’s election and will be going on July 9^th for the presidential election. And honestly my attention was also distracted because of that, since I also concern and always put interest about the national politics issues in my country. When I realized, the event which was introduced by my beloved father in 1998 and made me among the football maniacs in the world, is going to start very soon, so then I conditioned myself to be prepared for this 4 years event. Decisive Clash for Lisbon Verdict: whether Madrid, Munich, or London ?

This 2013/2014 season, the Final Game of UEFA Champions League will be held in Da Luz Stadium, Lisbon, where also the home of SL Benfica. Currently, The Lisbon Verdict is still waiting for the representatives that would come from 3 famous cities in Europe: Madrid, Munich or London. Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea will have the decisive battle in Semifinal Stage of UEFA Champions League 2013/2014. Due to the drawing, Real Madrid will faces Bayern Munich meanwhile Chelsea will deal with Barcelona’s slayer, Atletico Madrid.

Which one will you choose between Cech or Courtois, Mou?

Commonly, A Football Club has only 1 High-profile Goalkeeper which then conveyed by two or three back-up Goalkeeper to undergo season. And obviously, The Back-up Goalkeeper should have less quality compared to The High-profile one. Meanwhile, in this very day, Chelsea FC owns 2 Great Goalkeeper in the same time. Chelsea has Petr Cech that undoubtedly stands among The Best in the world, and Thibaut Courtois, who recently considered as The Best Young Goalkeeper in the world. This news seems very delightful for the club for having these two great goalkeeper.

If every Chelsea Fans were being asked about Juan Mata, they would obviously explained countless pleasant things about him, especially, both of his decisive corners kick in UCL Final 2012 and UEL Final 2013 in the end of 90 minutes that brought Two Famous European trophies in our cabinet in a row!  It also made him as Chelsea’s Player of The Year in two occasion in a row! Starting from those moments, pretty sure that every Chelsea Fans thought that he would be high as among our legend, like what has happened with Didier Drogba, John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Petr Cech. And I thought, personally, he would become far better when The Special One was coming back to Bridge. 

EPL 2013/2014, It might be the most difficult and unpredictable league in the world for last decades

In the early season, as Chelsea Fans, I thought it would be easy for Chelsea to win the Title of Premier League. It has been 3 years since the last time we won that title, so we should win the title this season (2013/2014).

In the pre-season time, whenever I used to discuss it with my friend, I always said that there were several reasons and prediction that used to make me confident to say Chelsea would win EPL title this season, in the early season:

          1.         The comeback of The Special One

Everyone in Chelsea loves Jose Mourinho caused by every nice memory was built in the past. This season Chelsea has so many potential young players that need a principal figure to teach and lead them to their glorious days. With bitter-sweet experiences that he has been undergoes in several countries, Mourinho is the right man to be Chelsea’s Manager today.

Istilah Treble Winner digunakan untuk suatu tim sepakbola yang dapat memenangi tiga trofi kompetisi dalam satu musim. Dari berbagai macam jenis Treble winner yang ada, yang paling bergengsi adalah jenis Continental Treble.

Apa itu Continental Treble?

Continental Treble itu adalah jika suatu tim dapat memenangi Kompetisi Liga Utama di negaranya, Kompetisi terbesar kedua di negaranya, dan ditambah 1 trofi paling bergengsi di Benua nya, dalam satu musim. Kalau di Eropa, Trofi “Big Ears” menjadi berhalanya. Hanya ada 6 tim dari 5 negara Eropa yang berhasil memenangi Treble Winner. Tim tersebut adalah:

Road to Wembley 2013 (1/2)

Oke langsung saja, tulisan ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari janji yang sudah saya sampaikan beberapa waktu lalu bahwa akan saya sampaikan prediksi tentang finalis UCL musim 2012/2013. Namun demikian, perlu diketahui bahwa format drawing musim ini sedikit berbeda dengan musim-musim sebelumnya. Sejak diberlakukan format knockout 16 besar pada musim 2005, drawing knockout dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali yaitu babak 16 besar dan 8 besar. Dengan format tersebut, saat tercapai babak 8 besar, prediksi untuk partai final dapat dilakukan lebih mudah karena lawan yang akan dihadapi di semifinal sudah dapat dapat diperkirakan. Sementara itu, di UCL musim ini drawing dilakukan 3 kali termasuk di babak semifinal. Tentu saja, hal ini lebih menyulitkan para prediktor (ini bikin istilah sendiri) bola macam saya ini. Hehe.

Kiper = Malaikat Sepakbola?

Kiper merupakan sosok sentral dalam sepakbola. Tidak jarang posisi ini menjadi penentu tim dalam turnamen-turnamen besar. Dalam adu pinalti, kualitas kiper menjadi pembeda bagi kedua tim yang sedang berseteru. Sekalipun posisi ini merupakan posisi yang jarang sekali aktif dalam bursa transfer, namun ketika sangat dibutuhkan, pemilik klub rela menginvestasikan sejumlah uang besarnya ke kiper muda berbakat. Tropi Liga Champion menjadi impian para setiap pemain yang berlaga di pentas Eropa. Setiap pemain selalu bermimpi untuk dapat mengangkat dan mencium tropi yang memiliki sebutan “Big Ears” itu. Rasanya tidak sah jika bermain dalam sebuah klub besar di benua biru, namun belum sempat mencicipi nikmatnya mengangkat tropi paling bergengsi di Benua Biru tersebut.

Kenapa fans MU terbanyak di Indonesia dan dunia?

Dari saya kecil dulu hingga sekarang, disetiap tempat saya mengorbit, saya selalu menyempatkan untuk berdiskusi tentang sepakbola. Ada 2 keahlian yang sangat menonjol pada pesepakbola ini, yang pertama umpan-umpan silangnya yang akurat dan yang kedua adalah tendangan bebasnya yang melengkung yang sangat mematikan. Saking terkenalnya tendangan melengkung ala Beckham ini, dibuatlah film yang berjudul Bend It Like Beckham.

Mana yang lebih baik dalam sepakbola, Akademi atau Finansial ? (part1)

Sudah lama sebenarnya saya ingin membahas isu ini, tapi keinginan yang belum kuatlah yang jadi penghambatnya. Alhamdulillah akhir2 ini semangat untuk menulis ada lagi, dan akhirnya saya sempatkan untuk menulis notes yang jarang ini. Notes yang berisi tentang kecintaan saya pada sebuah olahraga yang diakibatkan oleh aksi2 pemain tim samba pada gelaran Piala Dunia 1998 di Perancis.
